During my junior and senior year of high school, after committing to play college tennis at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, I decided to train with Aaron. The first words that come to mind when I think about training with him are: flexible, knowledgeable, and supportive.
One of my favorite things about working with Aaron was his individualized approach to each athlete. As with everything in life, not everything works for everyone, and this was true for me in the gym. Aaron always acknowledged how I was feeling and was flexible with swapping out certain lifts for more comfortable ones. He would help me target the area in another way or form, which speaks to his knowledge and flexibility with his athletes/clients. He achieved a balance that all athletes look for in a coach; someone who listens to their concerns while still pushing them to be the best they can be.
Speaking of knowledge, Aaron is a Certified Tennis Performance Specialist (CTPS), and it shows. He knew exactly what areas and muscles to target for strength and mobility and helped me feel stronger and more explosive on the court all around. Aaron sent me off to college well prepared for matches and well prepared for the everyday conditioning and strength training that accompany college athletics. I wish I could have taken him with me there, as my best progress was made with him.
Last but not least, Aaron is a very supportive and fun person to work with. I enjoyed going to the gym and putting in the work, whether it be 5 am or 4 pm. He supported me at matches and learned more about my game on the court, which helped him distinguish areas that needed focus in the gym. This goes to show how much he cares about his athletes, and I am so grateful to have had his support throughout the entirety of my tennis career.
